WIMAID was founded by Daniel Whitmore, inspired by the struggles he witnessed in his own family growing up.

When Daniel was young, his grandmother battled Type 2 diabetes for many years. He remembers watching her deal with constant fatigue, nerve pain in her legs, and the daily burden of medication and insulin. Simple activities she once loved — gardening, cooking, or walking around the neighborhood — slowly became difficult.

Not long after, Daniel’s grandfather began suffering from heart disease and high blood pressure, leaving him weak and frequently in and out of hospitals.

But what impacted Daniel the most was seeing his own father develop chronic joint inflammation in his early forties. Once strong and active, his father began waking up every morning stiff and in pain, struggling with everyday movement.

Watching the people he loved live with constant discomfort changed Daniel’s perspective on health forever.

As he grew older, he began studying wellness, nutrition, and preventive health. Daniel came to believe that while medicine treats illness, many health problems can be reduced long before they begin.
